A hypothetical example

Imagine a quarter-acre lot overgrown with brush and small trees, with a few large oaks the owner wants to keep. Lot clearing could remove the brush and smaller trees, take out stumps where the house and driveway will go, protect the oaks, and leave the lot ready for grading. This is an illustration, not a completed job.

Protecting trees you keep

Tree roots spread well beyond the trunk. Heavy equipment, soil piles and grade changes near a tree can damage it. Flag trees early, and talk with us about how close work needs to be. For valuable trees, you may also want an arborist's advice.

After clearing

A cleared lot is easier to survey, inspect and build on. Next steps often include grading, a driveway, drainage or sod. Planning those steps together can save time and avoid disturbing the same area twice.
